Bible Study Courses - Something To Think About

I was thinking the other day about how many different Bible study courses are curently available especially on the Internet. In our very much time poor society that we live in coupled with the abundance of topics available in the scriptures there is an ever increasing need for valuable Bible study courses to help us.

However you should be aware that anyone can create a website and write stuff for you to see. Is the stuff they are saying really true? Does the Bible support their claims?

I have found we all have opinions and religious views are no different. When wanting to know more about God only His opinion counts. Make sure you are reading and studying about the God of the Bible and not a God that has been invented in the imaginings of the writer. They can use all of the same terms, they can Praise The Lord, mention Jesus as theor saviour, speak about the Holy Ghost and still be preaching another gospel.

Galations 1:7-9

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Who can tell me the Bible Colleges that the Peter went to? Or Paul? All any of the disciples?

What Bible study course or courses did they take?

The answer is none!

They learned on the job. They learned from the scripures themselves and from the people they were with, even from Jesus himself.

Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of his day...

Matthew 23:13-34 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier [matters] of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all uncleanness.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and [some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and [some] of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute [them] from city to city:

I am not against Bible study courses however you should ask the question, Who is doing the teaching? Are they the modern day Scribes and Pharisees? Always make sure you follow scripture and not mans teaching.
