By far the best Bible study resource for researching Bible topics is a concordance. You can purchase hard cover Bible concordances however most Bible software programs include them and there are numerous free Bible concordances online.

A concordance allows you research everywhere a specific word or phrase is mentioned in the Bible. So for example if you were studying faith you would type in the word and press enter and then the concordance will bring up results showing you every verse in the Bible that contains the word faith.

My search for faith reveals that faith occurs 247 times in 231 verses in the KJV (which is the version of the Bible I prefer)

Using a concordance is how most modern day preachers get their sermons ready and is an absolute must have for all Bible students. A good concordance will also provide the original Greek or Hebrew for every word you search for.

So still using our example for the word faith I find the Greek word for faith pistis {pis'-tis} can also mean - assurance, believe, belief,them that believe, fidelity.

While I prefer thye KJV sometimes looking at how a scripture is translated in another version can help shed some light onto the verse in question.
