New Testament Bible StudyBible is the holy book of the Christians which is a collection of guidelines for the people to follow. It is a collection of sacred writings which guides the spiritual and religious life of Christians. The Bible has been divided into two sections namely the Old Testament and the New Testament. Majority of the Christians today follow the Rabbinic Hebrew Scripture and the New Testament. Both of them exhort and inspire people with the life and teachings of Jesus. The New Testament is a collection of 27 different books written in early Koine Greek language. The New Testament The New Testament is the life story and teachings of Jesus being the protagonist. The books on the New Testament have been categorized in various subheadings: - The Gospels: These Gospels give an account of the Jesus of Nazareth. These gospels are the text accounts of Jesus' life, his teachings and sayings. - Acts: The books of Acts are synonymous to the forms Acts of the Apostles or the Acts of the Holy Spirit. Apostles are the narratives of the Apostles' ministry posthumous Christ. - Pauline Epistles: Pauline Epistles have been disputed for the reason of authorship not being established and this was the reason for its universal rejection. - General Epistles: General Epistles were comprised of the church writings. - Prophecy: Prophecy dealt with the prediction of the imminent events. The prophets were considered to be capable of communicating and exchanging messages with God. They were considered as the messengers of God. - New Testament Apocrypha: In the ancient times umpteen spurious writings claimed Apostolic Authorship. Though some of the ancient churches accepted them, they were considered as Apocrypha. These books were part of the Old Testament which were not accepted as a part of Hebrew Scriptures and were excluded from the Protestant Bible at the time of reformation. The New Testament has played the crucial role in moulding the western modern culture. The 27 books of the New Testament consists of the four narratives of Jesus Christ's ministry namely Gospels, Apostles, Epistles and Apocalyptic Prophecy. Conclusion The common languages spoken by people at the time of Christ were Aramaic, Koine Greek etc. the original text of the New Testament has been written Koine Greek which was the vernacular of the East Mediterranean in the first century. The Bible has been translated in to a number of languages for the dissipation of the Christian ideologies far and wide. The major languages of translation were English, Latin, Syriac, and Coptic. It has taken a long time for assembling the biblical manuscripts over a long period of time into bible.
